Linking from the Digg Crowd May Be Tougher

Date March 28, 2007

A post I read on Graywolf’s SEO Blog today seemed to suggest that there is an Auto-bury feature built within Digg. This brings to the table a couple of important points.

1. If this is true then one would think that the concept of the Digg community deciding what is news goes completely out the window, in my opinion.

2. Marketing to this site from a SEM perspective will likely become more and more difficult, and become a less viable option.

3. If Michael’s finding are true, could this be considered as an unethical practice by Digg, or can Digg simply be acting in the best interests of the community it serves and not the Search Marketing crowd?
